About Me.

Hey, I'm Jayden Campbell, A UX Designer passionate about effective communication.

I’ve been honing my communication skills since I was 11, starting from my local church and stemming into joining clubs like Toastmasters, and later volunteering with social enterprises like Remember the 400.

Drawing from my advocacy background, I strive to advocate for users’ needs. As a director at Sky once remarked, “A good idea presented badly is a missed opportunity,” emphasising the importance of clear communication in presenting valuable insights.

A user-first experience is something I push for everyday.

Outside of my work life, I spend the majority of my time with family and friends. I praise my God. I try to keep active and I would love to join a running club soon, we’ll see :)

"PEOPLE IGNORE DESIGN THAT IGNORES PEOPLE"

Did you read that? ^... No? It tells you why you didn't, go read it :)

My Manifesto

Be an expert

"A great UX Designer isn't how well you can follow the double diamond, but how much of an expert you are in your industry, how can you know what the benchmark is or spot a niche if you don't know the industry and its players like the back of your hand" - A mentor

Learn from the best

I'm a big believer in learning from those around you, those that have more years of experience have more wins and losses and ultimately more learnings... a wise man learns from others and also learns from their mistakes.I want to be a wise man :)

Preserve the student

Data is king

"Designing without real content or data is not problem-solving; it's fantasising" - Kim Goodwin - A mentor of mine gave this and taught me to continually push, push and push for data because as we all know, without data you're another person with an opinion.

Zoom out, see the forest

You've always got to think about the entire engine that the company is, the eco-system. Use the design systems, layout grids and pattern libraries to maintain consistency. You can't see the forest through the trees... but also don't let that limit your creativity or make you stop pushing for greatness.

A mentor of mine said to me "the best teachers are the best students and the best students are the best teachers." Trends, technological advancements, UX laws etc. will continue to evolve, and if you don't evolve with it then you're going to get left behind my man. Everyday I'm better than I was yesterday.

Let's connect!
